Electrical profiles, dogbones for air-cooled and transformers

Versatile electrical profiles

Our GRP insulation profiles - dogbones and corner profiles - have been developed for demanding applications in transformer and electric motor construction They serve as spacers in air-cooled (pictured left) and oil-cooled (pictured right) transformers and promote effective circulation through their cavities for optimum cooling

With temperature resistance up to 180°C (thermal class H) and high durability, they offer maximum reliability and reduce the risk of component failure in critical systems Ideal for high power transformers, coils and chokes

FAQ

  • GRP insulation profiles are made of glass fibre reinforced plastic.
  • Offer excellent insulation and temperature resistance properties.
  • Are used in transformers, electric motors and railway vehicles.
  • Provide electrical insulation and efficient heat dissipation.
  • Lightweight: GRP is significantly lighter than metal, which reduces handling, installation and transport costs.
  • Extremely heat-resistant: up to 180°C
  • High mechanical strength: GRP offers high strength and resilience despite its low weight.
  • Low thermal conductivity: GRP conducts less heat than metal, which can lead to better thermal insulation and energy efficiency.
  • Electrical insulation: GRP has excellent electrical insulation properties, making it ideal for applications in transformer systems.
  • Low maintenance: Due to the durability and resilience of GRP, profiles made from this material require less maintenance.

The UL Yellow Card is a certification that confirms that our GRP profiles fulfil all relevant safety and performance requirements for use in the USA and Canada. This certification is particularly important for companies wishing to export products to North America.

Yes, thanks to our in-house toolmaking department, we can manufacture customised GRP insulation profiles according to your specific requirements. This means you get exactly the profiles that perfectly match your applications.
